A word from the producer:

Since I have volunteered as a campaign manager in provincial election of November 2004, have gained another level of integration to Canadian society in Alberta. I met good friends who have helped me and still close to me; Diana Parker-program director, Bitrix - program coordinator and of course member of parliament Weslyn Mather, these individuals let me have a short tour inside ethnic radio station, from that moments on; I began to emphasize how valuable it would be to have Somali language program at “CKER” which is now called “WOLDFM” ethnic radio station for multicultural communities, and from that day on I realized how the Canadian proudcusting system reflects Canada’s linguistic diversity.

Fortunately; my thoughts came to life on August 4th 2005 when Program director Diana Parker called me with good news says- the Somali Language Program will air every Sunday night from 10 pm to 11pm from this multicultural ethnic radio station , my response was; I believe producing Somali language program from this unique station will play an import role in building harmony among the Somali community in Edmonton by promoting cultural programs, home news, special Somali songs, tales, sharing info. About upcoming events, bussines, sports, weddings, advertisements and interviews with prominent etceteras.

After three years by my self, finally help arrived from friends who are willing to work for their community voluntarily, now we are four hosts including me- producer:

4-Abdikarim sh Ibrahim

We also have Professor Idirs Madder who is playing an important role of his own unique educational program called “Bulshada iyo waxbarashada” this ethnic radio is what all of us allowed to mint in to the rest of society, and we all proud of this opportunity as it reflects our success and the success of our community.
